Live It: October Challenge

This month’s theme verse:

“God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Talk About It

Sadie Robertson discusses how you can overcome fear to live your faith…

Sadie Robertson discusses that scary “moment right before” an amazing skydiving experience — the moment when doubt and fear entered her mind seconds before a joyous experience revealed beautiful horizons. How does that compare to fears you’ve experienced right before you’ve stepped out in faith to obey God’s leading or share truth with a friend? Take a moment to share with your friends or family some of those “just before” moments you’ve experienced.

Sadie also talks about how God “took away the power of fear” in her life and replaced it with “the power of a sound mind” — referencing 2 Timothy 1:7: “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” How have you personally experienced the truth of this verse in your own life? With friends or family, share some of the fears that you believe God is speaking to you about and challenging you to let go of and take a leap of faith. Pray together for God to continue working in your hearts to remove fears and empower you to share His truth and love.

This month, we’re challenging students to share a favorite Bible verse with a friend who is struggling with their faith or going through a difficult time.

We’re also challenging your family to invite someone who has religious beliefs you’re not sure about to go to church or a Bible study with you, or have dinner at your home.
